Press Release Summary: WPFG Studios and the Wolfpack film Group hosts Portfolio Building workshop in \"Austin\'s Most High Tech Home\" July 12-13th for Actors, Models, Photographers, Makeup Artists, Local Designers, Filmmakers, and CSA Casting Director Barbara Brinkley.
Press Release Body: In mid July 2008 WPFG Studios and the Wolfpack Film Group are bringing together a slew of Austin's top independent film, photography, and other related professionals along with local actors and models for a portfolio building workshop that will help many local artists market themselves better. The workshop is being hosted by Producer Robin Blesch, and will be held at The Mermaid House, a 3.5 million dollar private estate in Austin's beautiful hill country.
The mermaid house has recently gained recognition from KXAN as, "Austin's Most High-tech Home, because of its $300,000 home automated system. View the virtual tour of the estate here. http://www.wpfgstudios.com/workshops/photography.html
Producer Robin Blesch, owner of WPFG studios and founder of the Wolfpack Film Group has arranged for CSA Casting Director Barbara Brinkley to attend, meet the talent, answer questions, and give tips as a top casting director in the Southwest (Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico). Brinkley's has done casting for almost every major studio in Hollywood, and her credits include multi-million dollar feature films such as "Varsity Blues," "Universal Soldier," the TV show "Walker Texas Ranger," plus a long list of other films.
Selected photographers, makeup artists, hair designers, a clothing designer, lighting professionals, and filmmakers will congregate on July 12-13th to "create together" in a friendly supportive environment. The goal of the workshop is to help network local professionals and create amazing images that will help all involved market their talents better.
The workshop will be open to a very limited number of Texas' acting and modeling professionals and hopefuls. "For some this will be the chance of a lifetime and for others it will be business as usual, but WPFG studios plans to make this workshop a shebang that will not soon be forgotten in Austin. I still have a few spaces open, and I encourage friendly teamwork minded working or aspiring actors and models to try to get in." says Blesch.
"Websites like Youtube and TV shows like American Idol have given the general public the impression that success in the entertainment industry can be achieved almost overnight, but that is not the reality for the majority who must scratch and claw their way to their goals from nothing but raw talent. Actors, models, filmmakers, and artist must work very hard to be noticed in their competitive industry, and the cost of honing their craft can be so expensive that some of the most talented cannot continue, which is sad. As a producer I am interested in talented people of all types, and I try to help them however I can, because they are my local hiring pool." said Mrs. Blesch.
The Wolfpack Film Group is a consortium of production companies, producers, directors, writers, filmmakers, and support crew members, and in only a few short years the Wolfpack has risen to prominence in Austin under Mrs. Blesch by pooling their resources much like a studio system to make feature films, music videos, commercials, and more. In 2007 alone WPFG Studios produced 47 global commercials for Match.com (which still run on myspace and Yahoo, and have been spoofed on Youtube), and brought other out of state projects to Austin working with agencies from LA, Boston, and New York on projects like this Global Maidenform bra commercial http://www.wpfgstudios.com/adwork/index.html
However, WPFG Studios and the Wolfpack Film Group's main focus is and will always be producing high quality independent feature films, and Blesch is now in pre-production on their next feature film to be shot on a remote island in the Caribbean this year (more information on that film to be released soon). Post-production on their last feature film "Anything for Now," should be complete by the end of the year.
